Baby Tutorials {for my boy}

>> Wednesday, March 30, 2011

First of all, I made this blanket in about 5 minutes last week in my sewing class.
If I had a serger, I would make blankets for every single baby in the world.
Here are some other things on my list
more baby pants, because I don't think it's ever going to really be Spring here
Can you believe after all the baby shoes I've made, my guy has zero.
This tutorial has served me so well over the years.
I'm really liking the shape of these burp cloths, makes the most sense of what I've seen so far.
Freezer paper stencils have been on my list for a while. How adorable is the guitar tutorial?

Dana is amazing and there are two things I want to make from her arsenal of tutorials.

Also, he has a large shelf in his nursery, so I though some of these soft boxes would be nice
And for Easter, I think he might need a manly version of one of these.
39.5 weeks. Can you believe it?
This is before the anesthesia prom I told you about last weekend.
Dancing did not induce labor.

Bootie Design Development- Phase I

>> Friday, August 15, 2008

So I'm trying really hard to come up with the cutest, most well constructed, best designed booties ever. I know it's a little late seeing as the bootie competition is over, but I obviously have room for improvement...I didn't get first. Which I would like to re-emphasis that I cannot believe I even won. I've been looking at other people's booties all week trying to come up with my new prototype and there were waaaaaaaaaay cuter booties than mine. The judges must have liked green.

Here is where I am. From what I've read of real mom comments, these probably would not stay on very well.

Love the back detail on this one.

And on this one I was trying to pull some inspiration from the first place winner, but it's not really there. I don't like the exposed elastic. Still working on that detail.

I'm obsessed with booties...can you tell?

I WON!!!

>> Tuesday, July 22, 2008

Not first place....but I am one of three runners up in the Michael Miller Baby Bootie Contest!! I'm so pumped! I think there were over 100 entries. Here are the Winners. This was my entry.

Again I owe 95% of the credit to my friend Thor who took the pictures. As you can see from my recent posts, if I would have photographed them I would have had no chance. Funny thing is that I showed them to my friend Laura, who is the mother of Caroline and she said "Who is Stephanie Leigh Frye?"...and I realized that my Yahoo account still has my maiden name...whoops! I love the first place entry. They were actually one of my favorites. So look for future posts with my fun new Michael Miller fabrics!

I finally finished my booties for Caroline. Check them out on Flickr. I have entered them into the Michael Miller Baby Bootie Contest. I have to give a shot out (or is it shout out?) to my friend Thor who took wonderful photos of theses little guys. Thanks!

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I am trying to finish this and another shoe for this Baby Bootie Competition I'm entering. What do you think? Bryan agrees that I have some stiff competition. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that the judges, and baby Caroline, like green.

Baby Shoes Take Two

>> Thursday, April 24, 2008

I made another pair of cloth baby shoes. They are just so cute to look at. It took me two days to get back to make the second one. I probably could have finished both in one day, but I was too busy showing Bryan how cute the first one was. I bought some material today for the dresses I am making. Stay tuned!
