At Home with Amy Butler

>> Tuesday, May 3, 2011

As I have mentioned several times on this blog, I am a huge Amy Butler fan. I like her story, I like her designs, and after finding this AT post I am in loooooove with her house.
I love that she is proud to wave her cat lady flag, like yours truly. I also spy what I think to be an IKEA hack, this fixture plus a little gold spray paint perhaps? Who does not love a good DIY, especially from someone who can most likely afford to not DIY? And all that mid century furniture, swoon!! If there were a "have dinner with your favorite designer" contest and I won, I would totally pick Amy Butler. Can someone host something like that please?

ooo-I loved this feature, too - I especially tuned into the sofa covers & the clean lines mixed with the bright, fun fabrics.

I thought the same thing when I saw this on AT. DREAM HOME.

ADORE her! I love her choice of lighting, and that buffett with vintage portraits is perfection.

I was really taken with this, too--surprised how hip it all is--and blogged about the ikea hack yesterday! Had been considering something similar, and loved seeing it in the flesh.

I must say, I was expecting something a little different from Amy Butler, maybe more color. But, I guess if you are surrounded by those amazing patterns and colors all day, you need a little break!

I loved some of the natural curiosities elements-butterflies, shells, mushrooms, birds nests.

Did I see the white ikea flower pendant painted gold?

Great post!!!

Wow, I'm in love! Do you know if that wallpaper is her own design and if it can be purchased?

Elizabeth, all of amy's wallcoverings are manufactured by Graham and Brown.

I was surprised to as much IKEA in her home as I did... I was most surprised to see several pillows made from their fabrics.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that we have the same glass-topped coffee table! :)

Is it just me, or do they have two dining rooms and two living rooms?

Thank you so much for posting these pics! Years ago I ripped out a Domino Magazine (how much do we miss Domino?!) spread on her pad and it is SO fun for me to see these additional pictures and angles. I love her house and love her so much too! :) jolie
