Beacon Hill

>> Tuesday, June 7, 2011

This past Sunday the men and I went over to the Beacon Hill Art Walk. We love Beacon Hill. It's one of the many neighborhoods we say we want to live in before we leave Boston. Several months ago we were in the area and I saw John Kerry walking his dogs. In true southern fashion I said "hello, Mr. Kerry", he smiled and said hello back. Then my husband jokingly leaned over and told me that he's not Mr. Kerry he's Senator Kerry.

The best part of the tour was getting to see in people's backyards, which is where a great deal of the art was displayed. My favorite artist of the day was Catherine Nolin. Her paintings reminded me of a mix between Dali and VanGogh. Also they were mostly interiors scenes and I always enjoy a good illustrated perspective.

Catherine has an etsy shop where she sells both originals and very affordable prints. I think this one needs to come and live on my green living room walls.

Must move to Boston for residency, that is one of our goals :) I just can't get enough of it!

What a gorgeous neighborhood! I've only been to Boston a few times, so I don't know too much about the area, but this is super gorgeous and very W. Village, NYC-like!

PS: I'd love to share a giveaway I'm hosting that ends tomorrow- it's a little fashionable, a $50 gift card to a lovely etsy shop. They have some great silk flowers, if you'd like to see...

We walked through there, didn't we? I recognize some of it... No a lot of it! So pretty. Maybe we can do fellowship there and have a little "Bostonian Baby"!

Such a beautiful neighborhood. I have not been to Boston, but it's on the list. Love the history there!

Omg, I LOVE Beacon Hill and your photos just brought me right back. I miss it there so much! Especially now that the weather is warmer and all those gorgeous brownstones do their amazing flower boxes. Thanks for sharing!
