Unhappy Hipster

>> Thursday, February 11, 2010

In the span of a week I have had 4 architects and one interior designer email me a link to the Unhappy Hipster blog. If you love modern design from afar (Dwell) but could never really see yourself submitting to a stark, minimalist abode (I talk the talk, but could probably never walk the walk), you will find this blog hilarious. Here are some of my favorite posts...

Daddy was making them watch yet another documentary on the impact of Bauhaus on American architecture.
At this point, the womb chair was played out — so he created his very own womb room. He just knew Eero would have loved it.
If it weren’t for her nocturnal fantasies, their marriage wouldn’t stand a chance.
p.s. I had to work until 12:30 last night! yikes right!? And in an effort to reinforce that a career in design is not all frills and fabric, we made a little photo documentary of the night. I have not seen the pictures yet, but they should be interesting. I turn into a pumpkin at 10 o'clock and pumpkins are not very photogenic.

This has been traveling through the blog world that's for sure, but for good reason, totally funny, I'm a Dwell lover for sure but it does get a little pretentious! We should never take ourselves too seriously!
