Wells' Big Boy Bed

>> Tuesday, April 29, 2014

My sweet second child still sleeps in our closet, ah, city living. He is actually a petite little guy and I often joke that he's like a fish in small tank who cannot grow any larger or he would be too big for his environment. I'm sure that's not possible...right!?

But I came across this image this morning and literally laughed out loud thinking, THIS could be Wells' big boy room!

My husband and I are in the midst of a debate on how much space children really need. I am a fan of small living. Every room gets lived in, every day. He's a fan of 1,000 sf playrooms above a two car garage. How did we not cover this in our premarital counseling!? :)

I love it! I agree with you - large spaces aren't necessary. Maybe I've just got that idea in my mind since we have a small home and are expecting our first baby! :)

I am with you but I think it has a lot to do with where you are living. We just moved back to the city after 4 years in the 'burbs in Florida. We went from 500 sq ft in Cambridge to 2000 plus 2 car garage & now back down to 1200 for the 3 of us.

As someone who went from a 1,000 sq ft playroom over a 2 car garage to a house 1/2 the size where indeed every room get used everyday, I see the appeal of both. I love not having any wasted space BUT I miss having big open (ie. unfurnished) space for them to run around in A LOT. Especially with the winter here. I don't think you NEED it obviously but it sure is nice. :-/
