The Claw

>> Thursday, January 6, 2011

I am in the midst of working on a bathroom reno for a client outside of Boston and before I left for the holidays I stuck these images in a folder (source unknown). My client has a clawfoot tub that I would like to have refinished and paint the underside a darker color. Do these images not make you swoon?

Clawfoot tubs are so much better when you don't have to use them as a shower, ala the Sabbe tub. Have you ever had to clean a full tub perimeter of shower curtain? Not fun.

You can put your shower curtain (even the plastic one) in the washing machine! Just don't put it in the dryer obviously :) That's how I clean ours!

Smart idea from Bryn!

I've always wanted a clawfoot tub, they're sooooo gorgeous.

Although, its hard to clean underneath them, I remember a friend that had one always complaining about that!

Oh to have a large enough bathroom to fit one of these. One day I'd love one positioned in front of a window overlooking the countryside :)

Yep, the washing machine does a great job on my shower curtain as well! I usually put it in there with some towels.

If I had one of those, I don't think I'd mind cleaning it one bit. Gorgeous!

I'm all for the claw! I take lots of baths anyway, I would just feel cleaner and more glam in a claw foot tub! XX!

I have a 100 year-old claw foot tub (actually, it's a ball foot tub), and I can concur that it is, in fact, a pain in the neck to clean. Sure, you can wash the curtains (it takes three to get all the way around!), but it's still annoying! Every time I take them down to wash them, I wish so badly that I wouldn't have to put them back on... The bathroom looks sooo much better and airier without them!

I would love to have one someday. My mother picked up one a few years ago and is storing it until she has the money to remodel her bathroom.

I love clawfoot tubs. I had one in my favorite apartment.
